Visa Types
Short Term Visa
You can apply for a short-term visa for stays in the Schengen Area of no more than three months (90 days) in a period of six months (180 days) from the date of any entry into the Schengen Area.
Long Term Visa (National Type D)
You can apply for a long-term visa for stays in the Lithuania of more than three months (90 days) in a period of six months (180 days) from the date of any entry.

Overview
You need to apply for the relevant visa type if you enter Lithuania with one of the following purposes:
- Tourism
- Private visits (excluding visiting close relatives/family members)
- Owners of accommodations in Lithuania and their family members (spouses, children (including adopted)
- The citizens of the Republic of Belarus and their family members visiting graves of close relatives (parents (including adoptive parents), siblings, grandparents and grandchildren) or family members (spouses, children (including adopted), that are situated at the territory of the Lithuanian Republic

The documents can be in Lithuanian, Belarusian, Russian or English language. Only Latin alphabet is applicable for application form filling.
All clients who need to undergo the biometric procedure must also complete a consent form for the processing of personal data.

After the application form is filled you need to print it and put your signatures (the bottom part of the 4th page). If the documents are submitted for minors one of the parents signs the child’s application form.
- Photograph (one)
- Colored one with the light background with the dimensions of 35 x 45 mm;
- Photo should be made no earlier than 6 months before documents submission;
- Face image should occupy 70-80% of the photo.
- The photo should be glued at the Application form.

- Passport and the copy of the pages in duplicate with personal data (e.g. 31-33 of the Belarusian passport)
- passport (travel document) should be valid minimum 3 month after visa expiry date;
- should be issued during past ten years;
- should contain minimum 2 blank visa pages aimed.
If the applicant is not a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, then it is necessary to provide documents confirming legal stay in the country (valid residence permit/valid temporary residence visa), which must be valid for another 3 months after return and at least 6 months before the planned trip.
- Medical insurance
- insurance should cover any expenses, which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, medical attention, emergency hospital treatment or death during the stay in Schengen member state;
- insurance should be valid for all Schengen member states and cover the entire period of the intended stay or transit with addition of 15 days validity;

minimum coverage must be 30.000 EUR.
If a multi-entry visa is requested, it’s acceptable to submit adequate and valid travel medical insurance covering the period of their first intended visit.
Please note: medical insurance agreement is accepted only in print.
- Minor children:
- Copy of birth certificate.
- If a minor child leaves the country accompanied by one of the parents / guardians, who already has a valid Schengen visa, the copy of this visa has to be attached to the documents. In this case the consent signed by both parents or guardians and allowing the child to leave the borders of the Republic of Belarus is not needed.
- In case a minor child leaves the country and is accompanied by any other person except for parents/ guardians the original and a copy of notarized consent signed by both parents or guardians is attached to the documents (the consent is compiled in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Belarus). If a child has only one parent or guardian, the confirming documents are provided (for instance, death certificate of another parent, single parent document, etc.).
- Proof of employment
- All employed persons provide letter from employer (original). The following information should be included into this document:
- current position;
- date of employment and labor contract expiration date (if applicable);
- salary for past 3 months.
- Individual entrepreneurs instead of testimonial of employment provide
- Registration certificate of individual entrepreneurship (original and copy);
- Tax bill (original and copy) or paid tax reference (original).
- Students instead of proof of employment shall provide student ID card (original and copy) or letter from university / college (original).
- Pensioners shall provide pension certificate (original and copy), a document confirming the amount of the accrued pension (if this information is not indicated in the provided bank statement).
- Unemployed persons instead of testimonial of employment shall provide the documents confirming their relations with Belarus (for instance, marriage certificate (original and copy), spouse’s salary reference, proof of real estate ownership, company shares and etc.).
- All employed persons provide letter from employer (original). The following information should be included into this document:
- Documents confirming the purpose of travel
- Tourism
- The confirmation of the sufficient amount of financial means for travel. The sufficient amount of money per travel day is 40 euros proved by the bank statement issued to the international payment card "Visa", "Mastercard", "Maestro"and etc., reflecting the account activity during the last 3 months (the document can be printed using online banking data and contain website details).
- Confirmation of hotel reservation or rental of accommodation
- Private visits (excluding visits to close relatives / family members):
- The confirmation of the sufficient amount of financial means for travel. The sufficient amount of money per travel day is 40 euros proved by the bank statement issued to the international payment card "Visa", "Mastercard", "Maestro"and etc., reflecting the account activity during the last 3 months (the document can be printed using online banking data and contain website details).
- Written request from the host person.
- Owners of accommodation in Lithuania and their family members:
- Recent extract from the real estate register valid for at least three months and stating that the person possesses the accommodation in the Lithuanian Republic (dwelling house, or its part, apartment or any other accommodation suitable for living of a person or his/her family, not less than 14 square meters per every person).
- Confirmation of the family relationship
- The sufficient amount of money per travel day is 40 euros proved by the bank statement issued to the international payment card "Visa", "Mastercard", "Maestro"and etc., reflecting the account activity during the last 3 months (the document can be printed using online banking data and contain website details) or a certificate from the bank (no later than five days ago, certified by the bank's seal), confirming the availability of funds on the international bank card "Visa", "Mastercard", "Maestro", etc.
- The citizens of the Republic of Belarus visiting the graves of close relatives or family members:
- The sufficient amount of money per travel day is 40 euros proved by the bank statement issued to the international payment card "Visa", "Mastercard", "Maestro"and etc., reflecting the account activity during the last 3 months (the document can be printed using online banking data and contain website details)
- Reference from the disposition place confirming the fact of burying and grave preservation (original and copy);
- Confirmation of the family relationship.

Photo Specifications
Please read the specifications for photographs carefully before submitting your visa application.
The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ¼ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling.
The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be neutral and light, providing sufficient contrast to the face and hair (a neutral gray). Reflection from glasses, sunglasses, or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.
The photo needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 600 dpi resolution; the colours must present a natural appearance and skin tone. The photo must not have kinks, scratches or stains on it. To know more about photo specifications click here.

Processing Time
Applications shall be decided within 14 calendar days of the date of the receipt of the application at Embassy/Consulate or according to the Visa Facilitation Agreements.
The period of time for taking a decision on a visa application may be extended up to 30 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed. In exceptional cases, this period is extended to 60 calendar days.
However, it is also recommended that you lodge your visa application taking into account national holidays of the country of residence and in Lithuania. Please note that during holidays the operation of certain consular services may be reduced.

Please note that it is necessary to put the dates of the first planned trip (the first entry and departure dates) and the number of entries in p.27 of Schengen visa application form. Visa applications are submitted no later than 15 calendar days before the start date of the planned trip, the countdown of which begins from the moment documents are received at the corresponding Embassy / Consulate of a foreign state.
We also draw your attention to the fact that p. 1-3 are filled out in accordance with the data of the travel document (passport).
Please note that the decision to issue a visa, including its duration, multiplicity and number of days of stay, is exclusively within the competence of the Consulate / Embassy.
Once you have filled in the form, it must be printed out and signed (at the bottom of page 4). When applying for minors, one of the parents signs the child’s application form.
Please, also pay attention: when submitting documents to the Visa Application Centre it is required to attach to the general documents the copies of two last pages with photo and signature, which you can make preliminary or in the Visa Application Centre on the day of submission. Also, if you have a revoked passport, you can additionally attach the revoked passport by making a copy of all pages except empty in advance.

An invitation from a business partner in Lithuania, indicating the name, surname, date of birth of the invited person, the purpose and duration of the trip(s).
If an invitation cannot be provided, it is necessary to provide other proof of the purpose of the trip (for example, information about participation in the conference, admission ticket to the exhibition, business trip program, etc.).
- A written request from Belorussian organization or entity sending an employee to Lithuania, signed by the head and addressed to the Embassy of the Republic
of Lithuania, which must indicate:
- name, surname of the employee and the position held by him
- purpose and duration of the trip (s)
- if the inviting party does not assume all the costs associated with the trip, the obligation to pay all costs associated with the travel and stay of the employee in the Schengen area.
- A copy of the State Registration Certificate of a Belarusian organization or entity;
- An original and copy of the document on the basis of which cooperation is carried out (contracts, agreements, agreements, etc.).;

- Individuals engaged in self-employment and entrepreneurial activities and representatives of business organizations:
- A written request from a host legal entity, company, enterprise organization, or a branch of such a legal entity or company, state or local authorities or organizing committees of trade and industrial exhibitions, conferences and symposia held in Lithuania. The letter must contain the name, surname, date of birth of the invited person, the purpose and duration of the trip (s).
- copy of the certificate of state registration of the inviting and / or invited party
- The original and a copy of the document on the basis of which cooperation is carried out (contracts, agreements, agreements, etc.) (in the case of individual entrepreneurs).
- Drivers* (international cargo transportation, international passenger transportation):
- Application of the Belarusian Association of International Road Carriers BAMAP,
OR - A letter of application from the transport company signed by the head and addressed to the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania, which must indicate:
- name, surname and date of birth of the driver;
- purpose and duration of the trip (s).
- obligation to bear transport costs, as well as all costs of the driver's stay in the Schengen area.
- Driving license of the corresponding category (original and copy).
- For truck drivers: certificate of completion of the course for international drivers (original and copy).
- A copy of the registration certificate for the truck and trailer or bus (technical passport, original and copy).
- A copy of the certificate of state registration of a transport company.
- License or permission to carry out international freight or passenger transportation (original and copy).
- Contract between a transport company and a partner company in Lithuania for the provision of transport services (copy).

- A written request from the Belarusian Railway or its authorized body indicating the purpose, duration and frequency of flights;

- A certificate issued by a professional association confirming the professional qualifications of a journalist.
- A letter from the employer stating that the purpose of the trip to Lithuania is journalism, together with an obligation to pay all expenses related to the employee's travel and stay in the Schengen area.

The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documents (for example, proof of place of residence, documents for transport, etc.).

- A written request from Belarusian organization, confirming the fact of the trip, signed by the head and addressed to the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania.
The letter must indicate:
- name, surname of the person to be sent and in the capacity of the customer to travel to Lithuania;
- date of employment and expiration date of the employment agreement or contract (if applicable);
- salary for the last three months (if applicable);
- purpose and duration of the trip (s).
- A copy of the certificate of state registration of the sending Belarusian organization or institution.
- Sponsorship letter from the sending Belarusian organization, or other proof of financial solvency, if the invitation does not contain confirmation of incurring the costs of the stay.
- A written request from Belarusian organization, confirming the fact of the trip, signed by the head and addressed to the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania.
The letter must indicate:
- Documents confirming the purpose of travel
- For participants in scientific, cultural and creative events:
- Official letter (invitation*) from the host in Lithuania, which must contain at least the following:
- personal data of the invited persons - name, surname, date of birth;
- purpose, time and duration of the trip or trips;
- in what capacity the invited persons travel to Lithuania;
- host country obligations to guarantee or organize accommodation.
- Official letter (invitation*) from the host in Lithuania, which must contain at least the following:
- For participants in official programs of cooperation of twin cities:
- An invitation* from the administration / mayor of the host city where the event is being held.
- For participants in sports events and accompanying persons:
- An invitation* from a competent sports organization in Lithuania, for example, a sports federation, the National Olympic Committee, which must contain
at least the following:
- personal data of the invited persons - name, surname, date of birth, their functions (for example, athlete, coach, doctor, attendant, etc.);
- name, place, date (s) of a specific event or events in which the invited persons will participate.

If the host organizes or guarantees accommodation itself, the invitation must contain information about the place of residence (name and address of the hotel, hostel or other place of residence), as well as the exact period of time during which the host guarantees or organizes accommodation. If the invitation involves several trips, it is allowed to provide data only for the first trip.
* The invitation must be signed by his legal representative who has the right to sign. If an addendum is attached to the invitation (for example, a list with the details of the invited persons), it must be signed in the same way as the main document.

Applications shall be decided within 14 calendar days of the date of the receipt of the application at Embassy/Consulate or according to the Visa Facilitation Agreements.
The period of time for taking a decision on a visa application may be extended up to 30 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed. In exceptional cases, this period is extended to 60 calendar days.
However, it is also recommended that you lodge your visa application taking into account national holidays of the country of residence and in Lithuania. Please note that during holidays the operation of certain consular services may be reduced.

- Medical insurance
- insurance should cover any expenses, which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, medical attention, emergency hospital treatment or death during the stay in Schengen member state;
- insurance should be valid for all Schengen member states and cover the entire period of the intended stay or transit with addition of 15 days validity;

minimum coverage must be 30.000 EUR.
If a multi-entry visa is requested, it’s acceptable to submit adequate and valid travel medical insurance covering the period of their first intended visit.

- Minor children:
- Copy of birth certificate.
- If a minor child leaves the country accompanied by one of the parents / guardians, who already has a valid Schengen visa, the copy of this visa has to be attached to the documents. In this case the consent signed by both parents or guardians and allowing the child to leave the borders of the Republic of Belarus is not needed.
- In case a minor child leaves the country and is accompanied by any other person except for parents/ guardians the original and a copy of notarized consent signed by both parents or guardians is attached to the documents (the consent is compiled in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Belarus). If a child has only one parent or guardian, the confirming documents are provided (for instance, death certificate of another parent, single parent document, etc.).
- Proof of employment
- All employed persons provide letter from employer (original). The following information should be included into this document:
- current position;
- date of employment and labor contract expiration date (if applicable);
- salary for past 3 months.
- Individual entrepreneurs instead of testimonial of employment provide
- Registration certificate of individual entrepreneurship (original and copy);
- Tax bill (original and copy) or paid tax reference (original).
Students instead of proof of employment shall provide student ID card (original and copy) or letter from university / college (original).
Pensioners shall provide pension certificate (original and copy), a document confirming the amount of the accrued pension (if this information is not indicated in the provided bank statement).
Unemployed persons instead of testimonial of employment shall provide the documents confirming their relations with Belarus (for instance, marriage certificate (original and copy), spouse’s salary reference, proof of real estate ownership, company shares and etc.).
- All employed persons provide letter from employer (original). The following information should be included into this document:
- Documents confirming the purpose of travel
- For patients:
- Confirmation from a medical institution certifying the need for medical care.
- A document confirming the place of residence (presented in the event that the place of residence is not indicated in the confirmation from the medical institution). If the customer is applying for a multiple entry visa, it is allowed to submit residency documents only for the first trip.
- Confirmation of the availability of sufficient financial resources to finance the treatment, contribution or prepayment of medical bills;
- For accompanying persons
- Confirmation from a medical institution certifying the need for medical care.
- A document confirming the place of residence (presented in the event that the place of residence is not indicated in the confirmation from the medical institution);
- Confirmation that you have sufficient funds for the trip. The amount of at least 40 euros per day per person is confirmed by a bank statement with account movements for the last 3 months (can be printed from the Internet bank, the details of the Internet page must be) or a certificate from the bank (no later than five days ago, certified by the seal bank), confirming the availability of funds on an international bank card "Visa", "Mastercard", "Maestro", etc.
- If the documents are submitted separately from the patient's documents: a copy of the patient's passport and visa.

copy of the driver's license and a copy of the driver's visa,
or - when using other transport: other documents confirming the use of the vehicle.

- For multiple transit to the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation for individuals:

- For multiple transit to the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation for legal entities:
- invitation (original) of a partner from the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation;
- a letter of application from a Belarusian organization or institution sending an employee to the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation, signed by the head and addressed to the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania, which must indicate the purpose and duration of multiple trips to the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation;
- a copy of the certificate of state registration of a Belarusian organization or institution;
- original and copy of the document on the basis of which cooperation is carried out (contracts, agreements, agreements, etc.).
The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documents (for example, proof of place of residence, documents for transport, etc.).
After the application form is filled you need to print it and put your signatures (the bottom part of the 4th page). If the documents are submitted for minors one of the parents signs the child’s application form.

Photo Specifications
Please read the specifications for photographs carefully before submitting your visa application.
The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ¼ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling.
The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be neutral and light, providing sufficient contrast to the face and hair (a neutral gray). Reflection from glasses, sunglasses, or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.
The photo needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 600 dpi resolution; the colours must present a natural appearance and skin tone. The photo must not have kinks, scratches or stains on it. To know more about photo specifications click here.

Processing Time
Applications shall be decided within 14 calendar days of the date of the receipt of the application at Embassy/Consulate or according to the Visa Facilitation Agreements.
The period of time for taking a decision on a visa application may be extended up to 30 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed. In exceptional cases, this period is extended to 60 calendar days.
However, it is also recommended that you lodge your visa application taking into account national holidays of the country of residence and in Lithuania. Please note that during holidays the operation of certain consular services may be reduced.

Please note that it is necessary to put the dates of the first planned trip (the first entry and departure dates) and the number of entries in p.27 of Schengen visa application form. Visa applications are submitted no later than 15 calendar days before the start date of the planned trip, the countdown of which begins from the moment documents are received at the corresponding Embassy / Consulate of a foreign state.
We also draw your attention to the fact that p. 1-3 are filled out in accordance with the data of the travel document (passport).
Please note that the decision to issue a visa, including its duration, multiplicity and number of days of stay, is exclusively within the competence of the Consulate / Embassy.
Once you have filled in the form, it must be printed out and signed (at the bottom of page 4). When applying for minors, one of the parents signs the child’s application form.
Please, also pay attention: when submitting documents to the Visa Application Centre it is required to attach to the general documents the copies of two last pages with photo and signature, which you can make preliminary or in the Visa Application Centre on the day of submission. Also, if you have a revoked passport, you can additionally attach the revoked passport by making a copy of all pages except empty in advance.
