Overview

Short-stay visa for people travelling with the purpose of tourism.

Documents Required

CHECKLIST

• Passport issued within the previous 10 years, containing at least 2 blank pages and valid for at least 3 months beyond the expiry date of the requested visa, plus a copy of the personal data pages of the passport. For non‑Belarusian citizens, a valid residence permit in Belarus is required.
• Application form for a type “C” visa (completed and signed).
• One recent ICAO-compliant photo (35x45 mm) affixed to the appropriate field of the application form.
• Photocopies of any previously issued visas.
• Travel medical insurance valid for the Schengen area (minimum coverage 30,000 euros, including repatriation costs).
• Declaration of guarantee and accommodation (the so‑called invitation from Italy, form available in the “Forms and Templates” section) + copy of the inviter’s identity document showing their signature (passport or ID card and/or residence permit) or hotel/apartment booking.
• Financial means

  a) Salary certificate for the last 3 months, or—for individual entrepreneurs—income tax declaration (without cryptographic codes), or—for pensioners—pension certificate.

  b) Bank statement. For unemployed applicants, students or minors: a financial coverage letter from a family member. If the family member financing the trip travels with the applicant and submits his visa documents on the same day, copies of the family member’s financial means are not required.

• For family members of Italian/EU citizens: documents proving the family relationship (including certificates of name change) + copy of the identity document of the Italian or EU family member (ID card or passport).
• For minors: original and copy of the birth certificate, copies of the parents’ identity documents and, where applicable, copies of the parents’ valid visas/residence permit.
• If travelling with one parent: notarized consent from the other parent (templates available in the “Forms and Templates” section) or other official documents justifying their absence (death certificate, single-mother certificate, court rulings).
  If travelling with a close relative or a third person: notarized consent from both parents authorizing travel with that person, who must be explicitly mentioned in the consent; the family relationship must be proven with copies of the relevant certificates (including name-change certificates) + a copy of the accompanying person’s identity document and, where applicable, a copy of their valid visa.
  The minor’s application form must be signed by both parents.
  For pupils and students: certificate of enrolment and attendance at the school/university, and, if available, a copy of the student card.
• Means of transport
  • If travelling by air: round-trip flight booking. Not mandatory: means of transport used to reach the airport in Lithuania/Poland/Latvia (therefore, neither the bus ticket nor vehicle documentation is required).
  • If travelling by bus from Belarus to Italy: round-trip bus booking.
  • If travelling by car from Belarus to Italy: copy of the vehicle registration and driving license (currently possible only via Poland); if the car belongs to a third person, add a copy of the driver’s identity document and valid visa.
• Documentation proving previous travel to Italy, not mandatory.

Please note that the possession of the above‑listed documents does not guarantee the issuance of the visa. The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documentation for the assessment of the visa application.

Photo Specifications

General information

• No more than 6-months old
• Photo should be colored, full-faced and without fringing.
• Photo should have been taken within the last six months.
• Each applicant should submit 1 photo along with visa application.

Photo size

• 35 x 45 mm with face centered in the frame
• Head (from the top of the head to the bottom of the chin) should be about 30 mm.

Photo specifications

• Photo should be taken fullface with applicant facing camera directly.
• Face should cover about 70-80% of the photo.
• Photo should be colored and have white or light background. Photos with dark or patterned background will not be accepted.
• Face should be clearly seen. It is preferable to have ears open.
• Sunglasses or other accessories are not acceptable unless required for medical reasons (e.g. eye patch).
• Photo depicting a person wearing a traditional facemask or a veil that does not permit adequate identification is not acceptable.

Kindly follow the instructions above. If photos provided do not correspond with the Consulate requirements your application pack will be considered incomplete. In case you do not have an opportunity to make a photo in advance you can do it in visa application center.

Processing Time

The decision on visa applications is made within 15 calendar days from the date the documents are received by the Consulate. In some cases, where more detailed checks are required, this period may be extended up to 45 days.

Overview

Short stay visa for people who intend to go to Italy for business activities, negotiations, business trainings, checking the usage and work of the equipment, bought or sold within commercial agreements and industrial collaboration.

Documents Required

CHECKLIST

• Passport issued within the previous 10 years, containing at least 2 blank pages and valid for at least 3 months beyond the expiry date of the requested visa, plus a copy of the personal data pages of the passport. For non‑Belarusian citizens, a valid residence permit in Belarus is required.
• Application form for a type “C” visa (completed and signed).

• Employer’s letter requesting the employee’s business trip, indicating the period and purpose of travel, as well as the amount of travel expenses. If the applicant is self‑employed or freelance: documents proving professional activity.
• Registration of the local applicant company: certificate, articles of association (certified copies with company stamp).
• Documents confirming commercial relations with Italy: contracts, invoices, CMR, or other relevant documents (certified copies with company stamp).

Please note that the possession of the above‑listed documents does not guarantee the issuance of the visa. The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documentation for the assessment of the visa application.

Overview

Short stay visa for people who intend to study in Italy.

Documents Required

Schengen application form

Duly completed (in Italian, English, Belorussian or Russian), dated and signed by the applicant in person. The visa application form is available on the Forms page. Filling out both by hand and by editors is allowed. In case of minors (below the age of 18), the application form needs to be signed by at least one of their parents or the person exercising legal guardianship present at the documents’ submission.

Photograph

1 photo, not older than 6 months, meeting Schengen photo requirements (glued on the application form).

 Travel document

Passport, which must be valid for at least 3 months after the date when the holder leaves the Schengen area, containing at least two empty pages marked “Visa” and issued within the previous 10 years.

Confirmation of legal residence in the Republic of Belarus

- Registration in a passport (for citizens of Belarus);

- Residence permit or registration in the passport and belorussian visa (for foreign citizens).

Medical insurance policy

The travel insurance should be valid for Schengen area if you apply for short stay visa;

The insurance must cover the minimum amount of 30,000.00 Euro (coverage: repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, emergency hospital treatment and transportation of the body in case of death);

The insurance should cover the whole period of your stay in Schengen area. If the visa is requested with a longer validity and multiple entries, the travel insurance only needs to cover the first trip.

Purpose of travel proof

1. Confirmation of your booked courses in Italy, or enrolment letter;
2. Covering letter from the Belarus Organization or education institution, which is interested in the applicant’s trip, stating purpose of travel and duration of trip.

 

Proof of arrival/departure

1. Round trip ticket, paid or booked in the name of an applicant;
2. Contract with the transport company, transport company’s registration certificate, permit for international transfers of transporter’s company, technical passport of vehicle, insurance for the vehicle “Green card”, copies of the driver’s passport pages (pp. 31-33) and his valid Schengen visa, copies of driving license and certificate of international driver;
3. Car registration license, owner’s driving license and, in case the applicant is not an owner of the car, documents confirming the driver’s eligibility to drive the vehicle (power of attorney – original and it’s copy). In case the applicant is not the driver, it is required to present copies of the driver’s passport pages (pp. 31-33) and his valid Schengen visa and a copy of driving license.

Proof of accommodation

1. Hotel booking with the name of an applicant on it;
2. Invitation letter (in accordance with the presented sample in original).

 

Proof of applicant’s current occupation

1. Employed - employment certificate which includes job title, recruitment date and, if applicable, termination date (termination agreement). It must be presented on official form, stamped by the organization and signed by the person in charge. The document is valid within 1 month from the date of issue;
2. Self-Employed - company registration certificate;
3. Retired - pension certificate;
4. Student - student card or enrollment certificate;
5. Unemployed - copy of labour book (pages with personal data and all employments for the last 3 years);
6. Others - documents confirming ties with Belarus (for example, marriage certificate, birth certificate etc.)

* Following documents are valid within 1 month from the date of issue: employment certificate, retirement benefit statement, a tax payment certificate, student card or enrolment certificate.

 

 

Proof of sufficient financial means for the intended stay (according to the requirements of Directive of Ministry of Domestic affairs 1.3.2000)

1. Employed - employment certificate with information about the amount of the salary for the last 3 months (this information can be provided in a separate document or in the above-mentioned employment certificate). It must be 3 presented on official form, stamped by the organization and signed by the person in charge. The document is valid within 1 month from the date of issue;
2. Self-Employed - tax declaration for the last three months;
3. Retired - retirement benefit statement;
4. Majors, going to Italy within Chernobyl programs – Italian bank statement (original and copy);
5. Others, including minors - proof of sufficient financial means for the intended stay: - Family member’s sponsorship letter and documents proving his/her employment and solvency (in this case a copy of the last page in sponsor’s passport is needed and documents proving family relationship between sponsor and applicant); - Bank account statement showing the movements for the last three months; -
6. Other documents (for example, documents of property or share ownership etc.).

 

Additional documents to be provided for minors

Birth certificate and its copy (apostille, translation and legalization are not required);

Parental consent: notarized consent from both parents (in accordance with the sample) to leave Belarus in favour of a minor apostille, translation and legalization are not required). Сopies of both parents’ passports pages (pp. 32-33). In case only one parent has a parental right it is necessary to submit supporting documents (court decision, death certificate etc.). ✓

Copies of the passport’s pages

Copies of the passport’s pages with personal data (pp. 31-33) and previous Schengen visas for the last 3 years.

Evidence of previous travel to Italy (up to 4 sheets).

For majors going to Italy within Chernobyl program: invitation from the host family – Autocertificazione (in accordance with the sample);

Original documents submitted with copies will be returned to the applicant (e.g. marriage certificate, student card, Italian bank statement, tickets, birth certificate, death certificate, etc.).

Before applying, please make sure you have copies of the documents required to get your passport back (an additional copy of the last page of the passport).

Proof of travel purpose and applicant’s status as a sportsman

1. Invitation letter from National Olympic Committee of Italy (CONI), or from Italian Athletic federation, or from the Host Athletic Organization, including confirmation of the applicant’s participation in the event and request for a visa issuance;
2. Covering letter from the Belorussian athletic association, interested in applicant’s trip, which must specify the purpose and duration of trip.

 

Proof of accommodation, transport and financial means

Petition from the Italian host organization stating the proof of transport means and information about the applicant’s accommodation in Italy, and the confirmation of covering the expenses related to the trip (this information can be mentioned in the invitation letter).

Documents confirming the purpose of travel

1. Covering letter from the transport company, interested in the applicants trip abroad, stating the dates of his employment, amount of the salary for the last 3 months and the confirmation of covering the expenses in the amount of at least 50 euro per day of staying.
2. Invitation letter from an Italian company in original, signed by the official representative and a copy of his/her identity card.

Documents proving the applicant is a driver

* In case the application is submitted via “БАМАП” (Association of International Transporters of Belarus) - petition from “БАМАП” requesting visa issuance;

* In case the application is not submitted through “БАМАП” (Association of International Transporters of Belarus):

1. Official letter from the transporter’s company (“БАМАП” for the Republic of Belarus or “АСМАП” for Russian Federation), confirming the company’s membership in “БАМАП”;
2. Transport company’s registration certificate;
3. License of transporter’s company for international transfers;
4. Permit for international transfers of transporter’s company;
5. Registration certificates of car and trailer;
6. Copy of the agreement between Italian inviting organization and Belorussian transport company;
7. Copies of invoices and CMRs;
8. Applicant’s driver’s license and its copy;
9. Certificate of an international driver and its copy;
10. Social security card and its copy;
11. Labor book and its copy.

Proof of accommodation

- Confirmation of a transport company proving an applicant’s overnight stay in a vehicle (this information can be included in covering letter);

- Hotel booking with the name of an applicant on it.

Overview

Short-stay visa for people, invited by state or private, but well-known organization with the purpose of the participation in political, scientific or cultural events

Documents Required

Schengen application form

Duly completed (in Italian, English, Belorussian or Russian), dated and signed by the applicant in person. The visa application form is available on the Forms page. Filling out both by hand and by editors is allowed. In case of minors (below the age of 18), the application form needs to be signed by at least one of their parents or the person exercising legal guardianship present at the documents’ submission.

Photograph

1 photo, not older than 6 months, meeting Schengen photo requirements (glued on the application form).

 Travel document

Passport, which must be valid for at least 3 months after the date when the holder leaves the Schengen area, containing at least two empty pages marked “Visa” and issued within the previous 10 years.

Confirmation of legal residence in the Republic of Belarus

- Registration in a passport (for citizens of Belarus);

- Residence permit or registration in the passport and belorussian visa (for foreign citizens).

Medical insurance policy

The travel insurance should be valid for Schengen area if you apply for short stay visa;

The insurance must cover the minimum amount of 30,000.00 Euro (coverage: repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, emergency hospital treatment and transportation of the body in case of death);

The insurance should cover the whole period of your stay in Schengen area. If the visa is requested with a longer validity and multiple entries, the travel insurance only needs to cover the first trip.

Proof of purpose of travel

1. Covering letter from the Belorussian organization, which is interested in the applicant’s trip abroad, stating his/her job title, the purpose and duration of trip;
2. Invitation letter from an Italian organization, inviting applicant to participate in political, scientific or cultural event;
3. Charter of the Italian nongovernmental host organization, confirming its noncommercial activity, unless the invitation is from state institution;
4. Detailed event’s program.

Proof of accommodation, transport and financial means

Petition from Italian host organization stating the proof of transport means and information about the applicant’s accommodation in Italy, and the confirmation of covering the expenses related to the trip (this information can be mentioned in the invitation letter).

Proof of arrival/departure

- Round trip ticket, paid or booked with the name of an applicant on it;

- Contract with the transport company, transport company's registration certificate, permit for international transfers of transporter's company, technical passport of vehicle, insurance for the vehicle "Green card", copies of the driver's passport pages (pp. 31-33) and his valid Schengen visa, copies of driving license and certificate of international driver;

- Car registration license, owner’s driving license and, in case the applicant is not an owner of the car, documents confirming the driver’s eligibility to drive the vehicle (power of attorney – original and its copy). In case the applicant is not a driver, it is required to present copies of the driver's passport pages (pp. 31-33) and his valid Schengen visa, copy of driving license.

 

Proof of accommodation

- Hotel booking with the name of an applicant on it;

- Invitation letter from an Italian organization, written on official form, presented in original.

Proof of applicant’s current occupation

1. Employed - employment certificate which includes job title, recruitment date and, if applicable, termination date (termination agreement). It must be presented on official form, stamped by the organization and signed by the person in charge. The document is valid within 1 month from the date of issue;
2. Self-Employed - company registration certificate;
3. Retired - pension certificate;
4. Student - student card or enrollment certificate;
5. Unemployed - copy of labour book (pages with personal data and all employments for the last 3 years);
6. Others - documents confirming ties with Belarus (for example, marriage certificate, birth certificate etc.)

* Following documents are valid within 1 month from the date of issue: employment certificate, retirement benefit statement, a tax payment certificate, student card or enrolment certificate.

 

 

Proof of sufficient financial means for the intended stay (according to the requirements of Directive of Ministry of Domestic affairs 1.3.2000)

1. Employed - employment certificate with information about the amount of the salary for the last 3 months (this information can be provided in a separate document or in the above-mentioned employment certificate). It must be 3 presented on official form, stamped by the organization and signed by the person in charge. The document is valid within 1 month from the date of issue;
2. Self-Employed - tax declaration for the last three months;
3. Retired - retirement benefit statement;
4. Majors, going to Italy within Chernobyl programs – Italian bank statement (original and copy);
5. Others, including minors - proof of sufficient financial means for the intended stay: - Family member’s sponsorship letter and documents proving his/her employment and solvency (in this case a copy of the last page in sponsor’s passport is needed and documents proving family relationship between sponsor and applicant); - Bank account statement showing the movements for the last three months; -
6. Other documents (for example, documents of property or share ownership etc.).

Additional documents to be provided for minors

Birth certificate and its copy (apostille, translation and legalization are not required);

Parental consent: notarized consent from both parents (in accordance with the sample) to leave Belarus in favour of a minor apostille, translation and legalization are not required). Сopies of both parents’ passports pages (pp. 32-33). In case only one parent has a parental right it is necessary to submit supporting documents (court decision, death certificate etc.). ✓

Copies of the passport’s pages with personal data (pp. 31-33) and previous Schengen visas for the last 3 years.

Before applying, please make sure you have copies of the documents required to get your passport back (an additional copy of the last page of the passport).

General information

• Photo should be colored, full-faced and without fringing.
• Photo should have been taken within the last six months.
• Each applicant should submit 1 photo along with visa application.

Photo size

• 35 x 45 mm with face centered in the frame
• Head (from the top of the head to the bottom of the chin) should be about 30 mm.

Photo specifications

• Photo should be taken fullface with applicant facing camera directly.
• Face should cover about 70-80% of the photo.
• Photo should be colored and have white or light background. Photos with dark or patterned background will not be accepted.
• Face should be clearly seen. It is preferable to have ears open.
• Sunglasses or other accessories are not acceptable unless required for medical reasons (e.g. eye patch).
• Photo depicting a person wearing a traditional facemask or a veil that does not permit adequate identification is not acceptable.

Documents Required

- The inviting relative’s passport copy with citizenship;

- For the relatives of Italy citizens only - confirmation of the relative’s citizenship (Dichiarazione Sostitutiva) and the

copy of identity proof with signature.

Documents proving the relationship between applicant and inviter

- Documents, confirming civil status, issued abroad (marriage certificate etc.);

- Declaration for Italian national institutions; - Documents proving the relationship between applicant and inviter ( birth certificate, marriage certificate).

Proof of arrival/departure
