VISA TYPES
Short Term
Schengen visa is issued to third-country nationals who, in accordance with the Regulation of the European Parliament and the European Council (UE) 2018/1806 of 14 November 2018, are required to hold a visa when crossing the external borders (see here for a list of third countries whose nationals are required to hold a visa when crossing the external borders of EU countries).
It is issued to persons planning to stay in the territory of Bulgaria or Schengen countries in total (one or more entries) for not more than 90 days during each 180-day period, which is counted from the date of entry into the territory of the countries of the agreement, or to persons planning to transit through the territory of the Schengen area (by train, car, plane).

A visa may be issued for one, two or more trips. The visa cannot be valid for more than five years.
For the purpose of calculating the period of stay in the territory of the countries party to the agreement, periods of stay on the basis of a residence permit or a long-stay visa (national) are not taken into account.

The following categories of citizens are exempted from paying the visa fee:
According to the Visa Code - third-country nationals: article 16, paragraph 4:
- Children under 6 years old;
- Schoolchildren, undergraduates, postgraduates and accompanying teachers travelling for training or educational internships;
- Third-country researchers travelling for the purpose of scientific research (EU Directive 2016/801) Note: A "researcher" is a third-country national holding a scientific degree (PhD, doctorate) or a relevant higher education qualification giving access to scientific programmes, who has been selected by a research organisation and admitted to the territory of a Member State to carry out research for which the above qualifications are normally required.
- Representatives of non-profit organisations under the age of 25 participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural and educational events organised by non-profit organisations;
According to the national legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria - Section 3:
Children up to and including 12 years of age - Russian Federation.
According to the Visa Facilitation Agreement between the EU and third countries:

VFS Service Fee
In addition to the visa fee, a service fee of EUR 28 (including VAT) will be charged. The fee is payable in Belarusian roubles at the exchange rate of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus and will be charged together with the visa fee for each application.
Visa and service fees are payable in Belarusian roubles only, in cash at the visa application centre.

Documents Required
Travel insurance is mandatory for all Schengen countries. If you haven't purchased it yet, click here.
We also inform you that before submitting your application at the Visa Application Center, each person providing biometric data for a visa must read, complete, and sign the Consent to the Processing of Personal Data. You can find the Consent to the Processing of Personal Data form here. Please note that consent to the processing of personal data for minors under 16 years of age is granted by one of their legal representatives. Minors who have reached the age of 16, as well as those who married before the age of 16, must give such consent themselves.
- An invitation from a Bulgarian or foreign individual, using the "Pokan-Deklaratsiya" form, certified by a notary and the relevant administrative authorities for foreigners of the Migration Department of the Bulgarian Police (original and photocopy);
The "Pokan-Deklaratsiya" is valid for six months from the date of certification by the relevant authorities. - A three-month employment certificate on company letterhead with the company seal, indicating the applicant's address, work phone number, position, and salary, indicating the start and end dates of the employment contract, and signed by the responsible person (valid for one month).
- For sole proprietors, a copy of the individual entrepreneur registration certificate indicating the taxpayer identification number (TIN) and a tax return for the last three months.
- Pensioners must provide a copy of their pension certificate and a certificate of the amount of their pension.
- Pupils and students must also provide a certificate from their educational institution or a student ID card confirming their current status as a pupil or student.
- For freelancers and artisans: a certificate of the most recently paid tax;
- For the unemployed and others: a copy of the pages of their work record book for the last three years containing personal information. Documents proving the applicant's ties to the Republic of Belarus (e.g., a marriage certificate, birth certificates of the applicant and their children residing in Belarus), and a certificate of financial/economic status in Belarus (e.g., a bank statement for the last three months, a spouse's income statement). If none of the above documents are available, a certificate of family composition and place of residence is required.
- Proof of sufficient funds for the trip (a current bank statement with three months' worth of transactions in the original) at a rate of €50 per person per day or the equivalent in another freely convertible currency (if your trip is less than or equal to 10 days, at least €500 for the entire trip).
Note: The validity of the requested visa is assessed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with Article 24, paragraph 2 of the Visa Code.
ADDITIONALLY, THE FOLLOWING MUST BE PRESENTED:
- A visa application form, legibly completed and signed by the applicant or, for minors, by their legal guardians.
- A valid passport with a validity of at least three months beyond the expiration of the requested visa (+ a photocopy of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages containing visas and stamps). The passport must be issued within the last 10 years and contain at least two blank pages in the "Visas" section. If you have visas in your old passport, please provide photocopies of pages 30-33, as well as all used visa and stamp pages.
Note: If the applicant has a new biometric passport, they must provide a copy of both sides of their ID card, as well as a certificate of family composition and place of residence.
* If the applicant is not a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, they must provide documents confirming legal stay in the country (a valid residence permit/temporary residence visa) valid for three months after their return and at least six months before the planned trip.
- One color photograph – against a white or light background, measuring 3.5 x 4.5 cm without corners or ovals, no older than six months. The face must occupy 80% of the photograph.
- Medical insurance valid for the entire duration of the trip within the Schengen area. The coverage amount must be at least €30,000, covering the costs of emergency medical care.
- Purchased plane/train/bus tickets or a reservation (for all roundtrip applicants) indicating the applicant's full name. The reservation must be valid for the entire visa application processing period, or proof of vehicle registration (copy of registration certificate, copy of driver's license, full itinerary and dates of the roundtrip, vehicle inspection). Hotel reservations for the entire roundtrip route (if any) must also be included. If necessary (if the applicant is not the owner), a notarized power of attorney for driving the vehicle is required. If the owner is traveling with the applicant, a copy of the vehicle owner's visa and a copy of their passport are required.
*If the trip is by car, the bank statement must also show an additional €200 for the vehicle.
If a minor is traveling for this purpose:
In all cases, a copy of the birth certificate and full proof of relationship with the legal representative or representatives (e.g., a marriage certificate, court decision, or other documents) is REQUIRED for minors and young children, as well as a separate set of visa documents, even if the children are included in the passport of one of the parents! Copies of the parents' passports must also be provided.
The presence, signature, or consent of the other parent/legal guardian is NOT REQUIRED for the application and collection of the visa in the following cases: the parent has been deprived of parental rights; the parent has died; the name of a close relative or a person who is not the legal guardian is listed in the "father" column on the birth certificate; the other legal guardian has been declared incompetent; the other legal guardian has been deprived of parental rights; is wanted; is declared missing (missing); The "father" field on the birth certificate is blank; if the child has no parents but a legal guardian, or in other circumstances not listed, it is mandatory to attach a document confirming this fact (the original and a photocopy of the document are required).
IMPORTANT: For minors or persons under guardianship, the visa application form must be signed by both legal guardians (the full name and signatures of both parents are required) or by one of the legal guardians, provided they have a NOTARIZED POWER OF ATTORNEY from the other parent, with the mandatory text "FOR MULTIPLE APPLICATION AND RECEIPT OF VISAS AT THE VISA CENTER/EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA IN THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS" (the original and a photocopy are required).
If a child is traveling with an accompanying adult and without their parents, they must also provide consent from both parents (the consent must indicate that it is valid in all Schengen countries and must include the correct details of the accompanying adults).
If applying for a child under 12 years of age, their presence is not required. Children 12 years of age and older must be present at each application to provide biometric data. Children aged 14 to 18 must also sign the application form.
ATTENTION!!!
- During the application review process, the Consular Section may request additional documents and/or invite applicants who have been refused a visa to an interview, notifying them of the refusal by official letter. Applicants have the right to appeal in accordance with the national legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria. In the event of a refusal, the visa fee is not refunded.
- The applicant may also decide to reapply for a visa, particularly if the reasons for the refusal have been corrected. Visa application processing begins only after consular fees have been paid.
- When applying for a Bulgarian "uniform" Schengen visa, your visa history will be taken into account. (You must prove that you have actually visited Bulgaria. For example, a used public transportation ticket in Bulgaria; receipts from stores, pharmacies, gas stations, or other suitable documents.)
- An invitation from a Bulgarian or foreign individual, using the "Pokan-Deklaratsiya" form, certified by a notary and the relevant administrative authorities for foreigners of the Migration Department of the Bulgarian Police (original and photocopy);

Photo Specifications

General information
- Photo should be colored, full-faced and without fringing.
- Photo should have been taken within the last six months.
- Each applicant should submit 1 photo along with visa application.
Photo size
- 35 x 45 mm with face centered in the frame
- Head (from the top of the head to the bottom of the chin) should be about 30 mm.
Photo specifications
- Photo should be taken fullface with applicant facing camera directly.
- Face should cover about 70-80% of the photo.
- Photo should be colored and have white or light background. Photos with dark or patterned background will not be accepted.
- Face should be clearly seen. It is preferable to have ears open.
- Sunglasses or other accessories are not acceptable unless required for medical reasons (e.g. eye patch).
- Photo depicting a person wearing a traditional facemask or a veil that does not permit adequate identification is not acceptable.
Please note:
Kindly follow the instructions above. If photos provided do not correspond with the Consulate requirements your application pack will be considered incomplete. In case you do not have an opportunity to make a photo in advance you can do it in visa application center.

Processing Time
The decision on visa applications is made within 15 calendar days from the date the documents are received by the Consulate. In some cases, where more detailed checks are required, this period may be extended up to 45 days.

(Only if a Bulgarian citizen permanently resides in Belarus on the basis of a temporary residence permit (TRP) or residence permit) - a declaration certified by the consular service.
The invited person must provide the following information: first name, last name, date of birth, gender, nationality, identity document number, duration and purpose of the trip, and that the inviting party will cover the costs of maintenance and accommodation, the address of the accommodation provided, and the names of any minor children traveling with the invited person. - Proof of relationship (marriage/birth certificate and other documents issued by the civil registry office). Spouses of Bulgarian citizens are exempt from the consular fee only with a Bulgarian marriage certificate!
- A copy of the Bulgarian citizen's personal card/passport or a document confirming the relationship, or a copy of a document confirming citizenship of the European Union, the European Economic Area, or Switzerland.
Note: The validity of the requested visa is assessed on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with Article 10 of the Visa Code. 24, paragraph 2.
ADDITIONALLY, YOU MUST PRESENT:

- An invitation from a Bulgarian or foreign individual, in the form of a "Pokan-Declaration," certified by a notary and the relevant administrative authorities for foreigners of the Migration Department of the Bulgarian Police (original and photocopy);
The "Pokan-Declaration" is valid for 6 months from the date of certification by the relevant authorities.
OR
(Only if a Bulgarian citizen permanently resides in Belarus on the basis of a temporary residence permit (TRP) or residence permit) - a declaration certified by the consular service.
The invited person must provide the following information: first name, last name, date of birth, gender, nationality, identity document number, duration and purpose of the trip, and that the inviting party will cover the costs of maintenance and accommodation, the address of the accommodation provided, and the names of any minor children traveling with the invited person. - Proof of relationship (marriage/birth certificate and other documents issued by the civil registry office). Spouses of Bulgarian citizens are exempt from the consular fee only with a Bulgarian marriage certificate!
- A copy of the Bulgarian citizen's personal card/passport or a document confirming the relationship, or a copy of a document confirming citizenship of the European Union, the European Economic Area, or Switzerland.
Note: The validity of the requested visa is assessed on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with Article 10 of the Visa Code. 24, paragraph 2.
ADDITIONALLY, YOU MUST PRESENT:
- A legibly completed visa application form signed by the applicant or, for minors, by their legal guardians.
- A valid passport valid for at least three months beyond the expiration of the requested visa (plus a photocopy of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages with visas and stamps). The passport must be issued within the last 10 years and contain at least two blank pages in the "Visas" section. If you have visas in your old passports, you must also provide photocopies of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages with visas and stamps.
Note: If the applicant has a new biometric passport, you must provide a copy of both sides of your ID card, as well as a certificate of family composition and place of residence.
* If the applicant is not a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, they must provide documents confirming their legal stay in the country (a valid residence permit/temporary residence visa). These documents must be valid for at least three months after their return and at least six months before the planned trip. - One color photograph – against a white or light background, 3.5 x 4.5 cm in size, without corners or ovals, no older than six months. The face must occupy 80% of the photograph.
- Medical insurance valid for the entire duration of the trip within the Schengen area. The coverage must be at least €30,000, covering the costs of emergency medical care.
- Purchased plane/train/bus tickets or a reservation (for all roundtrip applicants) indicating the applicant's full name. The reservation must be valid for the entire visa application processing period, or proof of vehicle registration (copy of registration certificate, copy of driver's license, full itinerary and dates of the roundtrip, vehicle inspection). Hotel reservations for the entire roundtrip route (if any) must also be included. If necessary (if the applicant is not the owner), a notarized power of attorney for driving the vehicle is required. If the owner is traveling with the applicant, a copy of the vehicle owner's visa and a copy of their passport are required.
*If the trip is by car, the bank statement must also show an additional €200 for the vehicle.
If a minor is traveling for this purpose:
In all cases, a copy of the birth certificate and full proof of relationship with the legal representative or representatives (e.g., a marriage certificate, court decision, or other documents) is REQUIRED for minors and young children, as well as a separate set of visa documents, even if the children are included in the passport of one of the parents! Copies of the parents' passports must also be provided.
The presence, signature, or consent of the other parent/legal guardian is NOT REQUIRED for the application and collection of the visa in the following cases: the parent has been deprived of parental rights; the parent has died; the name of a close relative or a person who is not the legal guardian is listed in the "father" column on the birth certificate; the other legal guardian has been declared incompetent; the other legal guardian has been deprived of parental rights; is wanted; is declared missing (missing); The "father" field on the birth certificate is blank; if the child has no parents but a legal guardian, or in other circumstances not listed, it is mandatory to attach a document confirming this fact (the original and a photocopy of the document are required).
IMPORTANT: For minors or persons under guardianship, the visa application form must be signed by both legal guardians (the full name and signatures of both parents are required) or by one of the legal guardians, provided they have a NOTARIZED POWER OF ATTORNEY from the other parent, with the mandatory text "FOR MULTIPLE APPLICATION AND RECEIPT OF VISAS AT THE VISA CENTER/EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA IN THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS" (the original and a photocopy are required).
If a child is traveling with an accompanying adult and without their parents, they must also provide consent from both parents (the consent must indicate that it is valid in all Schengen countries and must include the correct details of the accompanying adults).
If applying for a child under 12 years of age, their presence is not required. Children 12 years of age and older must be present at each application to provide biometric data. Children aged 14 to 18 must also sign the application form.
ATTENTION!!!
- During the application review process, the Consular Section may request additional documents and/or invite applicants who have been refused a visa to an interview, notifying them of the refusal by official letter. Applicants have the right to appeal in accordance with the national legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria. In the event of a refusal, the visa fee is not refunded.
- The applicant may also decide to reapply for a visa, particularly if the reasons for the refusal have been corrected. Visa application processing begins only after consular fees have been paid.

B) Drivers and crew members of vehicles transporting passengers and cargo by road between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Bulgaria or through the Republic of Bulgaria must present a professional driver's license of national and international standard, along with photocopies.
The invitation letter must indicate whether the host party will cover the costs of the stay or not:
- If the host party will cover the costs, proof of sponsorship from the inviting party, a sponsorship letter from the sending organization, or other proof of financial solvency must be presented, along with proof of hotel payment from the Bulgarian party on official letterhead, stamped, and signed.
- If the host does not provide accommodation (this must be stated in the invitation letter), you must also attach documents confirming accommodation and provide proof of hotel payment, paid for by the Belarusian party, on official letterhead, stamped and signed.
You must also submit a petition on the official letterhead of the Belarusian organization, stating the invitee's details, the duration and purpose of the visit, and a list of participants, stamped and signed by the responsible person. The invitation letter must indicate whether the host will cover the expenses of the stay or not.
- A three-month employment certificate on company letterhead with the organization's seal, stating the applicant's address, work phone number, position, and salary, indicating the start and end dates of the employment contract, and signed by the responsible person (the certificate is valid for one month).
Pupils and students must also provide a certificate from their educational institution or a student ID card confirming their current status as a pupil or student. - Documents proving financial support for the trip:
- To cover daily expenses (a current bank statement with three months' worth of transactions in the original) at a rate of €50 per person per day or the equivalent in another freely convertible currency (if your trip is less than or equal to 10 days, at least €500 for the entire trip).

1. A letter of invitation from the Bulgarian host organization on official letterhead stating the invitee's details, the location where the documents will be submitted (e.g., Minsk), the duration and purpose of the visit, a list of participants with the seal and signature of the responsible person, and mandatory guarantees: a guarantee that the persons applying for a Schengen entry visa are (civil servants; members of train, refrigeration, and locomotive crews; telegraph and postal employees, as well as freight forwarders accompanying cargo on international trips; drivers and crew members of vehicles accompanying humanitarian aid shipments; journalists, etc.) for Bulgaria, according to the official invitation from the Bulgarian side.
Explanation:
A) Members of train, refrigeration, and locomotive crews, postal employees, and freight forwarders accompanying cargo on international trains traveling through Bulgaria are issued visas based on lists of names and route sheets.
B) Drivers and crew members of vehicles transporting passengers and cargo by road between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Bulgaria or through the Republic of Bulgaria must present a professional driver's license of national and international standard, along with photocopies.
The invitation letter must indicate whether the host party will cover the costs of the stay or not:
- If the host party will cover the costs, proof of sponsorship from the inviting party, a sponsorship letter from the sending organization, or other proof of financial solvency must be presented, along with proof of hotel payment from the Bulgarian party on official letterhead, stamped, and signed.
- If the host does not provide accommodation (this must be stated in the invitation letter), you must also attach documents confirming accommodation and provide proof of hotel payment, paid for by the Belarusian party, on official letterhead, stamped and signed.
The invitation letter is valid only for a specific trip.
You must also submit a petition on the official letterhead of the Belarusian organization, stating the invitee's details, the duration and purpose of the visit, and a list of participants, stamped and signed by the responsible person. The invitation letter must indicate whether the host will cover the expenses of the stay or not.2. A three-month employment certificate on company letterhead with the organization's seal, stating the applicant's address, work phone number, position, and salary, indicating the start and end dates of the employment contract, and signed by the responsible person (the certificate is valid for one month).
- Pupils and students must also provide a certificate from their educational institution or a student ID card confirming their current status as a pupil or student.
3. Documents proving financial support for the trip:
- To cover daily expenses (a current bank statement with three months' worth of transactions in the original) at a rate of €50 per person per day or the equivalent in another freely convertible currency (if your trip is less than or equal to 10 days, at least €500 for the entire trip).
Note: The validity of the requested visa is assessed on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with Article 24, paragraph 2 of the Visa Code.
ADDITIONALLY, YOU MUST PRESENT:
1. A visa application, completed legibly and signed by the applicant or, for minors, by their legal guardians.
2. A valid international passport with a validity period of at least three months beyond the expiration of the requested visa (plus a photocopy of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages with visas and stamps). The passport must have been issued within the last 10 years and contain at least two blank pages in the "Visas" section. If you have visas in your older passports, you must also attach photocopies of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages with visas and stamps.
Note: If the applicant has a new biometric passport, they must provide a copy of both sides of their ID card, as well as a certificate of family composition and place of residence.
* If the applicant is not a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, they must provide documents confirming legal residence in the country (a valid residence permit/temporary residence visa). These documents must be valid for at least 3 months after their return and at least 6 months before the planned trip.
3. One color photograph – on a white or light background, 3.5 x 4.5 cm in size, without corners or ovals, no older than 6 months. The face must occupy 80% of the photograph.
4. Medical insurance valid for the entire duration of the trip within the Schengen area. The coverage must be at least €30,000, covering the costs of emergency medical care.
5. Purchased plane/train/bus tickets or a reservation (for all round-trip applicants) indicating the applicant's full name. The reservation must be valid for the entire visa application processing period. Vehicle documentation (copy of registration certificate, copy of driver's license, full itinerary and free-form dates for the round-trip, vehicle inspection) must also be included. Hotel reservations for the entire round-trip route (if any) must also be included. If necessary (if the applicant is not the owner), a notarized power of attorney for driving the vehicle is required. If the owner is traveling with the applicant, a copy of the vehicle owner's visa and a copy of their passport are required.
If a minor is traveling for this purpose:
In all cases, a copy of the birth certificate and full proof of relationship with the legal representative or representatives (e.g., a marriage certificate, court decision, or other documents) is REQUIRED for minors and young children, as well as a separate set of visa documents, even if the children are included in the passport of one of the parents! Copies of the parents' passports must also be provided.
The presence, signature, or consent of the other parent/legal guardian is NOT REQUIRED for the application and collection of the visa in the following cases: the parent has been deprived of parental rights; the parent has died; the name of a close relative or a person who is not the legal guardian is listed in the "father" column on the birth certificate; the other legal guardian has been declared incompetent; the other legal guardian has been deprived of parental rights; is wanted; is declared missing (missing); The "father" field on the birth certificate is blank; if the child has no parents but a legal guardian, or in other circumstances not listed, it is mandatory to attach a document confirming this fact (the original and a photocopy of the document are required).
IMPORTANT: For minors or persons under guardianship, the visa application form must be signed by both legal guardians (the full name and signatures of both parents are required) or by one of the legal guardians, provided they have a NOTARIZED POWER OF ATTORNEY from the other parent, with the mandatory text "FOR MULTIPLE APPLICATION AND RECEIPT OF VISAS AT THE VISA CENTER/EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA IN THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS" (the original and a photocopy are required).
If a child is traveling with an accompanying adult and without their parents, they must also provide consent from both parents (the consent must indicate that it is valid in all Schengen countries and must include the correct details of the accompanying adults).
If applying for a child under 12 years of age, their presence is not required. Children 12 years of age and older must be present at each application to provide biometric data. Children aged 14 to 18 must also sign the application form.
Pupils and students must also provide a certificate from their educational institution or a student ID card confirming their current status as a student.
ATTENTION!!!
- During the application review process, the Consular Section may request additional documents and/or invite applicants who have been refused a visa to an interview, notifying them of the refusal by official letter. Applicants may exercise their right to appeal in accordance with the national legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria. In the event of a refusal, the visa fee is not refunded.
- The applicant may also decide to reapply for a visa, particularly if the reasons for the refusal have been resolved. Processing of the visa application begins only after payment of consular fees.
- When applying for a Bulgarian "uniform" Schengen visa, the visa history of fulfilling the conditions of stay in Bulgaria will be taken into account. - For sole proprietors: a copy of the individual entrepreneur registration certificate indicating the taxpayer's taxpayer identification number (UTN) and a tax return for the last three months.
- Pensioners must provide a copy of their pension certificate and a certificate of the amount of their pension received.
- Pupils and students must also provide a certificate from their educational institution or a student ID card confirming that they are currently a pupil or student.
- For freelancers and artisans: a certificate of the most recently paid tax;
- For unemployed individuals and others: a copy of the last three years of their employment record containing personal information. If your accommodation includes at least three meals a day, you must provide at least 200 euros per person (proof of sufficient funds for the trip).

3. Proof of sufficient funds for the trip
If the "Tour Itinerary" does not include at least three meals a day, you must provide proof of sufficient funds for the trip (a current bank statement with three months' worth of transactions in the original) at a rate of €50 per person per day or the equivalent in another freely convertible currency (if your trip is less than or equal to 10 days, then at least €500 for the entire trip).
Note: The validity of the requested visa is assessed on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with Article 24, paragraph 2 of the Visa Code.
ADDITIONALLY, YOU MUST PRESENT:
1. A visa application, completed legibly and signed by the applicant or, for minors, by their legal guardians.
2. A valid passport with a validity period of at least three months beyond the expiration of the requested visa (plus a photocopy of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages with visas and stamps). The passport must have been issued within the last 10 years and contain at least two blank pages in the "Visas" section. If you have visas in your old passport, you must provide photocopies of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages with visas and stamps.
Note: If the applicant has a new biometric passport, they must provide a copy of both sides of their ID card, as well as a certificate of family composition and place of residence.
* If the applicant is not a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, they must provide documents confirming their legal stay in the country (a valid residence permit/temporary residence visa), which must be valid for three months after their return and at least six months before the planned trip.
3. One color photograph – against a white or light background, 3.5 x 4.5 cm in size, without corners or ovals, no older than 6 months. Your face must take up 80% of the photograph.
4. Medical insurance valid for the entire duration of your trip within the Schengen area. The coverage must be at least €30,000, covering the costs of emergency medical care.
5. Purchased plane/train/bus tickets or a reservation (for all roundtrip applicants) indicating the applicant's full name. The reservation must be valid for the entire visa application processing period.
* If the "Tour Program" includes transportation services, a copy of the current transportation services agreement between the Belarusian tour operator and the carrier must also be provided.
If a minor is traveling for this purpose:
In all cases, for minors and young children, a copy of their birth certificate and full proof of relationship with a legal representative or representatives (e.g., a marriage certificate, court decision, or other documents) is REQUIRED. A separate set of visa application documents must also be provided, even if the children are included in the passport of one parent. Copies of the parents' passports must also be provided.
The presence, signature, or consent of the second parent/legal guardian is NOT REQUIRED to submit the visa application and receive the final visa in the following cases: the parent has been deprived of parental rights; the parent has died; the name of a close relative or person other than the legal guardian is listed in the "father" column on the birth certificate; the other legal guardian has been declared incompetent; the other legal guardian has been deprived of parental rights; the other legal guardian is wanted; the child is missing (missing); the "father" column on the birth certificate is blank; the child has no parents but has a legal guardian; or in other circumstances not listed, but a document confirming this fact must be attached (original and photocopy).
IMPORTANT: For minors or persons under guardianship, the visa application form must be signed by both legal guardians (the full name and signatures of both parents are required) or by one of the legal guardians, provided they have a NOTARIZED POWER OF ATTORNEY from the other parent, containing the mandatory text "FOR MULTIPLE-ENTRY APPLICATION AND RECEIPT OF VISAS AT THE VISA CENTER/EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA IN THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS" (original and photocopy required).
If a child is traveling with an accompanying adult and without their parents, they must also provide consent from both parents (the consent must indicate that it is valid in all Schengen countries and must include the correct details of the accompanying adults).
If applying for a child under 12 years of age, the child's presence is not required. Children 12 years of age and older must be present to provide biometric data at each application. Children aged 14 to 18 must also sign the application form.
ATTENTION!!!
- During the application review process, the Consular Section may request additional documents and/or invite applicants who have been refused a visa to an interview, notifying them of the refusal by official letter. Applicants have the right to appeal in accordance with the national legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria. In the event of a refusal, the visa fee is not refunded.
- The applicant may also decide to reapply for a visa, particularly if the reasons for the refusal have been addressed. Visa application processing begins only after payment of consular fees.
- When applying for a Bulgarian "uniform" Schengen visa, the visa history of fulfilling the conditions of stay in Bulgaria will be taken into account. (You must prove that you have actually visited Bulgaria. For example, a used public transportation ticket in Bulgaria; receipts from shops, pharmacies, gas stations, or other suitable documents.)

- Each applicant should submit 1 photo along with visa application.

Processing Time

This visa may be applied for by persons travelling to Bulgaria for any of the following purposes:
- Participation in popular sports events, such as chess tournaments, dancing competitions, etc.
- Participation of artists in cultural events, including music concerts, open-air art events, exhibitions, etc.

1. A letter of invitation from the Bulgarian host (Ministry of Culture/Sport/Education, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, educational institutions, local municipalities, sports clubs, federations, etc.) on the organization's official letterhead, indicating the invitee's details, the location where the documents will be submitted (e.g., Minsk), the duration and purpose of the visit, a list of participants with the seal and signature of the responsible person, and the mandatory guarantees:
A) guarantees that the persons applying for a visa will participate in the event and apply for an entry Schengen visa to Bulgaria in accordance with the official invitation from the Bulgarian host;
B) guarantees that the list of persons applying for a visa has been officially approved by the sending party and does not include persons staying in Bulgaria for purposes other than direct participation in the event.
The invitation letter must indicate whether the host will cover the costs of the stay or not.
- If the host will cover the costs, proof of sponsorship from the inviting party, a sponsorship letter from the sending organization, or other proof of financial solvency must be presented, along with proof of hotel payment from the Bulgarian side on official letterhead, stamped and signed. The Bulgarian side must also send this confirmation to the Embassy's email address (prior to submitting documents at the Visa Application Center): [email protected]
- If the host does not provide accommodation (this must be indicated in the invitation letter), additional documents confirming accommodation must be attached and proof of hotel payment paid by the Belarusian side on official letterhead, stamped and signed.
(There are 3 categories):
- "Cultural Exchange": Invitation letter from the Ministry of Culture or the head of the relevant Municipality. Guest performance or tour program (number of performances, dates, and locations). List of all participants with their roles (e.g., orchestra player, dancer, lighting designer, etc.).
- "Research or Education": Invitation letter from the Ministry of Education or a relevant educational institution.
- "Sporting Event": Invitation letter from the Ministry of Sports or a relevant sports club. List of all participants with information on each participant's role (e.g., athlete, coach, doctor, etc.).
The invitation letter is valid for the specific trip only.
Submit a request on official letterhead from a Belarusian organization indicating the details of the invitee, the duration and purpose of the visit, and a list of participants with the seal and signature of the responsible person. The invitation letter must indicate whether the organization will cover the costs of the stay or not.
2. A three-month employment certificate on company letterhead with the company seal, address, work phone number, position, and salary of the applicant, indicating the start and end dates of the employment contract, and signed by the responsible person (valid for one month).
- For sole proprietors: a copy of the individual entrepreneur registration certificate indicating the taxpayer identification number (UTN) and a tax return for the last three months.
- Pensioners: a copy of their pension certificate and a certificate of the amount of their pension received.
- Pupils and students must also provide a certificate from their educational institution or a student ID card confirming their current status as a pupil or student.
- For freelancers and artisans: a certificate of the last tax paid;
- For the unemployed and others: a copy of the pages of their work record book for the last three years containing personal information. Documents proving the applicant's ties to the Republic of Belarus (e.g., marriage certificate, birth certificates of the applicant and their children residing in Belarus), proof of financial/economic status in Belarus (e.g., bank statements for the last three months, a spouse's income statement). If none of the above documents are available, a certificate of family composition and place of residence is required.

3. Documents proving financial support and funds for living expenses during the trip:
3.1. Accommodation:
- Option "A": A notarized deed of sale and purchase of real estate (a legible photocopy – seals and signatures must be clearly visible). If the property was purchased more than a year ago, additional documents confirming payment of taxes for the previous year must be attached.
- Option "B": Proof of accommodation for the entire period of stay (hotel reservations, a copy of an apartment or house rental agreement, etc.), which the Consulate can verify. Proof of payment for the hotel stay is also required: a bank statement (from which payment was made) or a fiscal receipt. The payment confirmation must list the names of all guests traveling, the length of their stay, and the hotel details.
If the accommodation includes at least three meals a day, a minimum of €200 per person (proof of sufficient funds for the trip) must be provided.
Option "B": Apartment rental agreement (valid for at least 90 days) with the signatures of the landlord and tenant notarized (a photocopy), as well as a notarized declaration by the property owner, in accordance with §1, paragraph 20, subparagraph 2 of the Additional Provisions of the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act (FPRB). The declaration must be certified by a Bulgarian notary or a Bulgarian consul (if the property owner is abroad).
3.2. Financial security:

If applying for a child under 12 years of age, their presence is not required. Children 12 years of age and older must be present at each application to provide biometric data. Children aged 14 to 18 must also sign the application form.

1. Notarized deed of sale of real estate (original + legible photocopy – seals and signatures must be clearly visible).
Note:
- Spouses and children under 18 must provide proof of relationship (copies of marriage/birth certificates and other documents issued by the Civil Registry Office). If the property was purchased more than a year ago, proof of payment of taxes for the previous year must be included.
- Invited persons (friends and children over 18) must provide a copy of the notarized deed and the original notarized residence permit for the required period from the owner (or all owners, if there are multiple owners), indicating the property address, the full name of the inviter and the invited persons (the original must be provided with an accredited translation and a consular certification of the accredited translator's signature), as well as proof of payment of taxes for the previous year. (If the residence permit invites multiple individuals, the first visa applicant receives the original with a translation, while the others must submit a copy.)
Note: For subsequent visa applications, a new original invitation with an accredited translation and consular certification of the accredited translator's signature will be required.
2. A three-month employment certificate on company letterhead with the company seal, indicating the applicant's address, work phone number, position, and salary, indicating the start and end dates of the employment contract, and signed by the responsible person (valid for one month).
- For sole proprietors, a copy of the individual entrepreneur registration certificate indicating the taxpayer identification number (UNP) and a tax return for the last three months.
- Pensioners must provide a copy of their pension certificate and a certificate of the amount of their pension received.
- Pupils and students must also provide a certificate from their educational institution or a student ID card confirming their current status as a pupil or student.
- For freelancers and artisans: a certificate of the most recently paid tax;
- For the unemployed and others: a copy of the pages of their work record book for the last three years containing personal information. Documents proving the applicant's ties to the Republic of Belarus (e.g., a marriage certificate, birth certificates of the applicant and their children residing in Belarus), and a certificate of financial/economic status in Belarus (e.g., a bank statement for the last three months, a spouse's income statement). If none of the above documents are available, please provide proof of family composition and place of residence.
3. Proof of sufficient funds for the trip (a current bank statement with three months' worth of transactions in the original) at a rate of €50 per person per day of stay or the equivalent in another freely convertible currency (if your trip is less than or equal to 10 days, at least €500 for the entire trip).
Note: The validity of the requested visa is assessed on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with Article 10 of the Visa Code. 24, paragraph 2.
ADDITIONALLY, THE FOLLOWING MUST BE PRESENTED:
1. A visa application, completed legibly and signed by the applicant or, for minors, by their legal guardians.
2. A valid passport with a validity period of at least three months beyond the expiration of the requested visa (plus a photocopy of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages with visas and stamps). The passport must be issued within the last 10 years and contain at least two blank pages in the "Visas" section. If you have visas in your older passports, you must also provide photocopies of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages with visas and stamps.

1. A declaration in the established form from the host employer, registered with the Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.
The declaration is valid for six months from the date of certification by the relevant authorities.
2. Documents proving financial support and living expenses for the trip:
2.1. Host employer:
- A copy of the employment contract between the applicant and the Bulgarian company.
- A copy of the Declaration. Pursuant to Article 32, paragraph 1, subparagraph 3 of the Rules for the Application of the Law on Labor Migration and Labor Mobility, the employer declares that it will provide accommodation, specifying the exact period and address of residence.
*If the employer will provide transportation at its own expense, a copy of the employer's Declaration on Provision of Transportation must also be provided.
2.2. From the Belarusian employer: a letter of guarantee in Russian confirming payment of all expenses during travel to the Schengen area, confirming the business trip, and that all financial expenses related to the business trip will be covered by the employer (with a specific address of residence indicated – hotel, private apartment, etc.).
2.3. From the applicant:
- to cover daily expenses (a current bank statement with three months' activity in the original) at a rate of 200 euros for the entire duration of the trip.
Note: The validity of the requested visa is assessed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with Article 24, paragraph 2, of the Visa Code.
ADDITIONALLY REQUIRED:
1. A visa application, completed legibly and signed by the applicant; for minors, by their legal guardians.
2. A valid passport with a validity of at least three months beyond the expiration of the requested visa (+ a photocopy of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages with visas and stamps). The passport must have been issued within the last 10 years and contain at least two blank pages in the "Visas" section. If you have visas in your old passports, you must provide photocopies of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages containing visas and stamps.
Note: If the applicant has a new biometric passport, you must provide a copy of both sides of your ID card, as well as a certificate of family composition and place of residence.
* If the applicant is not a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, you must provide documents confirming your legal stay in the country (a valid residence permit/temporary residence visa), which must be valid for at least three months after your return and at least six months before your planned trip.
3. One color photograph – against a white or light background, 3.5 x 4.5 cm in size, without corners or ovals, no older than 6 months. Your face must take up 80% of the photograph.
4. Medical insurance valid for the entire duration of your trip within the Schengen area. The coverage must be at least €30,000, covering emergency medical expenses.
5. Purchased plane/train/bus tickets or a reservation (for all applicants, round-trip) indicating the applicant's full name. The reservation must be valid for the entire visa application processing period, or vehicle documentation (copy of registration certificate, copy of driver's license, full itinerary and dates of the round-trip, vehicle inspection). Hotel reservations for the entire round-trip route (if applicable) must also be included. If necessary (if the applicant is not the owner), a notarized power of attorney for driving the vehicle is required. If the owner is traveling with the applicant, a copy of the vehicle owner's visa and a copy of their passport are required.
*If the trip is by car, the bank statement must also show an additional €200 for the car.
If a minor is traveling for this purpose:
In all cases, for minors and young children, a copy of the birth certificate and full proof of relationship with a legal representative or representatives (e.g., a marriage certificate, court decision, or other documents) are REQUIRED. A separate set of visa documents is also required, even if the children are included in the passport of one parent. Copies of the parents' passports are also required.
The presence, signature, or consent of the other parent/legal guardian is NOT REQUIRED to submit the visa application and receive the completed visa in the following cases: the parent has been deprived of parental rights; the parent has died; If the "father" column on the birth certificate contains the name of a relative or person who is not the child's legal guardian; if the other legal guardian has been declared incompetent; if the other legal guardian has been deprived of parental rights; if the other legal guardian is wanted; if the child is declared missing (missing); if the "father" column on the birth certificate is blank; if the child has no parents but a legal guardian, or in other circumstances not listed, it is mandatory to attach a document confirming this fact (the original and a photocopy of the document must be provided).
IMPORTANT: For minors or persons under guardianship, the visa application form must be signed by both legal guardians (the full name and signatures of both parents are required) or by one of the legal guardians, provided they have a NOTARIZED POWER OF ATTORNEY from the other parent, containing the mandatory text "FOR MULTIPLE-ENTRY APPLICATION AND RECEIPT OF VISAS AT THE VISA CENTER/EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA IN THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS" (original and photocopy required).

Information about transit visas
The Embassy draws attention to the fact that transit visas for travel through the Schengen States by land should be applied for at the diplomatic mission of the country through which the applicant first enters the Schengen area.
1. A photocopy of the visa for the destination (country) and:
- If the applicant is eligible for visa-free travel, they must provide documents confirming the purpose of the trip (invitation; real estate documents; proof of accommodation for the entire stay (hotel reservation, copy of apartment or house rental agreement, etc.) that the Consulate can verify. Proof of payment for the hotel stay is also required: a bank statement (from which payment was made) or a fiscal receipt.
- Drivers must provide a letter from the Association of International Road Carriers (ASMAP) and a letter of recommendation from the employer.
2. A three-month employment certificate on company letterhead with the company seal, address, work phone number, position, and salary of the applicant, indicating the start and end dates of the employment contract, and signed by the responsible person (valid for one month).
- For sole proprietors, a copy of the individual entrepreneur registration certificate indicating the taxpayer identification number (UNP) and a tax return for the last three months.
- Pensioners must provide a copy of their pension certificate. and a certificate of the amount of pension received.
- Pupils and students must also attach a certificate from the educational institution or a student ID card confirming that they are currently a pupil or student.
- For freelancers and artisans: a certificate of the last paid tax;
- For the unemployed and others: a copy of the pages of the work record book for the last three years indicating personal information. Documents proving the applicant's ties to the Republic of Belarus (e.g., a marriage certificate, birth certificates of the applicant and their children residing in Belarus), a certificate of financial/economic status in Belarus (e.g., a bank statement for the last three months, a certificate of income of the spouse). If none of the above documents are available, then a certificate of family composition and place of residence is required.
3. Proof of sufficient funds for the trip (a current bank statement with transactions for three months). (original) at a rate of €50 per person per day of stay or the equivalent in another freely convertible currency (if your trip is less than or equal to 10 days, at least €500 for the entire trip).
Note: The validity of the requested visa is assessed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with Article 24, paragraph 2 of the Visa Code.

The following categories of citizens are exempted from paying the visa fee:
According to the Visa Code - third-country nationals: article 16, paragraph 4:
- Children under 6 years old;
- Schoolchildren, undergraduates, postgraduates and accompanying teachers travelling for training or educational internships;
- Third-country researchers travelling for the purpose of scientific research (EU Directive 2016/801) Note: A "researcher" is a third-country national holding a scientific degree (PhD, doctorate) or a relevant higher education qualification giving access to scientific programmes, who has been selected by a research organisation and admitted to the territory of a Member State to carry out research for which the above qualifications are normally required.
- Representatives of non-profit organisations under the age of 25 participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural and educational events organised by non-profit organisations;

According to the Visa Facilitation Agreement between the EU and third countries:

VFS Service Fee
In addition to the visa fee, a service fee of EUR 28 (including VAT) will be charged. The fee is payable in Belarusian roubles at the exchange rate of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus and will be charged together with the visa fee for each application.
Visa and service fees are payable in Belarusian roubles only, in cash at the visa application centre.

We also inform you that before submitting your application at the Visa Application Center, each person providing biometric data for a visa must read, complete, and sign the Consent to the Processing of Personal Data. You can find the Consent to the Processing of Personal Data form here. Please note that consent to the processing of personal data for minors under 16 years of age is granted by one of their legal representatives. Minors who have reached the age of 16, as well as those who married before the age of 16, must give such consent themselves.
1. A written request from the applicant to the relevant consul, justifying the need for an urgent visa (death/burial, serious illness, or an incident occurring in the Republic of Bulgaria that threatens the life or health of a close relative of the applicant).
2. Additional documents confirming the purpose of the trip: death certificate, documents confirming family kinship, medical records, etc.
Note: The validity of the requested visa is considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with Article 24, paragraph 2 of the Visa Code.
ADDITIONALLY, THE FOLLOWING MUST BE PRESENTED:
1. A visa application, completed legibly and signed by the applicant or, for minors, by their legal guardians.
2. A valid passport with a validity of at least three months beyond the expiration of the requested visa (+ a photocopy of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages containing visas and stamps). The passport must have been issued within the last 10 years and contain at least two blank pages in the "Visas" section. If you have visas in your old passports, you must provide photocopies of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages containing visas and stamps.
Note: If the applicant has a new biometric passport, you must provide a copy of both sides of your ID card, as well as a certificate of family composition and place of residence.
* If the applicant is not a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, you must provide documents confirming legal residence in the country (a valid residence permit/a valid temporary residence visa), valid for at least 3 months after your return and at least 6 months before your planned trip.
3. One color photograph – against a white or light background, 3.5 x 4.5 cm in size, without corners or ovals, no older than 6 months. Your face must take up 80% of the photograph.
4. Medical insurance valid for the entire duration of the trip within the Schengen area. The coverage must be at least €30,000, covering emergency medical expenses.
5. Purchased plane/train/bus tickets or a reservation (for all round-trip applicants) indicating the applicant's full name. The reservation must be valid for the entire visa application processing period, or vehicle documentation (copy of registration certificate, copy of driver's license, full itinerary and dates in free format for the outbound and return trips, vehicle inspection). Hotel reservations for the entire outbound and return trip (if any) must also be included. If necessary (if the applicant is not the owner), a notarized power of attorney for driving the vehicle is required. If the owner is traveling with the applicant, a copy of the vehicle owner's visa and a copy of their passport are required.
*If the trip will be by car, the bank statement must also show an additional €200 for the vehicle.
If a minor is traveling for this purpose:
In all cases, a copy of the birth certificate and full proof of relationship with the legal representative or representatives (e.g., a marriage certificate, court decision, or other documents) is REQUIRED for minors and young children, as well as a separate set of visa documents, even if the children are included in the passport of one of the parents! Copies of the parents' passports must also be provided.
The presence, signature, or consent of the other parent/legal guardian is NOT REQUIRED for the application and collection of the visa in the following cases: the parent has been deprived of parental rights; the parent has died; the name of a close relative or a person who is not the legal guardian is listed in the "father" column on the birth certificate; the other legal guardian has been declared incompetent; the other legal guardian has been deprived of parental rights; is wanted; is declared missing (missing); The "father" field on the birth certificate is blank; if the child has no parents but a legal guardian, or in other circumstances not listed, it is mandatory to attach a document confirming this fact (the original and a photocopy of the document are required).
IMPORTANT: For minors or persons under guardianship, the visa application form must be signed by both legal guardians (the full name and signatures of both parents are required) or by one of the legal guardians, provided they have a NOTARIZED POWER OF ATTORNEY from the other parent, with the mandatory text "FOR MULTIPLE APPLICATION AND RECEIPT OF VISAS AT THE VISA CENTER/EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA IN THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS" (the original and a photocopy are required).
If a child is traveling with an accompanying adult and without their parents, they must also provide consent from both parents (the consent must indicate that it is valid in all Schengen countries and must include the correct details of the accompanying adults).
If applying for a child under 12 years of age, their presence is not required. Children 12 years of age and older must be present at each application to provide biometric data. Children aged 14 to 18 must also sign the application form.
ATTENTION!!!
- During the application review process, the Consular Section may request additional documents and/or invite applicants who have been refused a visa to an interview, notifying them of the refusal by official letter. Applicants have the right to appeal in accordance with the national legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria. In the event of a refusal, the visa fee is not refunded.
- The applicant may also decide to reapply for a visa, particularly if the reasons for the refusal have been corrected. Visa application processing begins only after consular fees have been paid.
- When applying for a Bulgarian "uniform" Schengen visa, your visa history will be taken into account. (You must prove that you have actually visited Bulgaria. For example, a used public transportation ticket in Bulgaria; receipts from stores, pharmacies, gas stations, or other suitable documents.)

Photo Specifications

General information
- Photo should be colored, full-faced and without fringing.
- Photo should have been taken within the last six months.
- Each applicant should submit 1 photo along with visa application.
Photo size
- 35 x 45 mm with face centered in the frame
- Head (from the top of the head to the bottom of the chin) should be about 30 mm.
Photo specifications
- Photo should be taken fullface with applicant facing camera directly.
- Face should cover about 70-80% of the photo.
- Photo should be colored and have white or light background. Photos with dark or patterned background will not be accepted.
- Face should be clearly seen. It is preferable to have ears open.
- Sunglasses or other accessories are not acceptable unless required for medical reasons (e.g. eye patch).
- Photo depicting a person wearing a traditional facemask or a veil that does not permit adequate identification is not acceptable.
Please note:
Kindly follow the instructions above. If photos provided do not correspond with the Consulate requirements your application pack will be considered incomplete. In case you do not have an opportunity to make a photo in advance you can do it in visa application center.

Processing Time
The decision on visa applications is made within 15 calendar days from the date the documents are received by the Consulate. In some cases, where more detailed checks are required, this period may be extended up to 45 days.
